Kept for keeps

The Invitation

Everything from our original wedding site โ€” the plans, the transport, the live streams โ€” preserved just as it was.

The Wedding

The Ceremony

The ceremony will be held on the beach in front of Sandy Bay (google maps here). We will gather around 5pm on the beach front, find seats and mingle, listening to the awesome tunes of the insanely talented Eugene & Akari. The ceremony, itself, led by Brian Gruber will kick off at 6pm exactly, and will include vows (led by Dani Viriyanot), a blessing from esteemed island Monk Phra Olarn Thanawutto, speeches and a signing under the watchful eye of the island Amphur. If you have already received an invitation, see you there!

We ask that everyone bring masks along as covid regulations are still in place. To that end we will be social distancing as much as possible, and sadly (while we REALLY wanted to invite everyone on the island and around the world), we are limited to 99 attendees. If you can’t make it, we will be livestreaming the event, to share the magic with everyone.

The Convoy

At 6:45pm, just as the sun is setting, we will make our way from the resort to Chaloklum, from where we will be taking boats from the pier to Bottle Beach.

There will be taxis available for everyone (free of charge) outside the resort which will drop you at the pier. From there, we will be boarding various boats (lit by tiki torches) to get to bottle beach. You will need your tickets for these (which will be issued by Georgie, Oytun, Lara & Brian) . You may prefer to take your bike/car for this bit (but still make sure you get your ticket for the boat). Full details for all of this are available here.

Friday night!

Friday’s festivities on Bottle Beach will be kicked of by the incredible Panganeros at 8pm. We will have more surprise live acts through the evening, and an open stage for the phenomenal amount of musicians coming to the event. PLEASE bring your instruments along if you want to play (some will be available). We also encourage all you wonderful artists and fire players to bring your kit and get involved! If you have accomodation arranged, your room number will be on your ticket. There will be sharing involved to fit everyone in, and at present we’re still working on the logistics. Should you wish to return home that evening, there will be boats available (see transport).

Saturday Day

If you have confirmation, breakfast (vegetarian and non-vegetarian as specified) will be supplied from 8-11 Saturday morning

No event on Koh Phangan would be complete without DJs, so on Saturday from 2pm the celebrations continue on the beach! We have three Djs running 2pm-11pm currently, but welcome others to come spin a few tunes with us ๐Ÿ˜‰

Details for getting to and from the event on Saturday.

Parking

Where you park will depend on how long you attend and which days you are coming for. There is parking available at Sandy Bay, but if you plan on joining us in the taxis, please try to find an alternative spot to leave room.

If you are riding/driving to Chaloklum, please consider there is a market there on Sunday, so if you plan on being at the event for the long haul, leave your bikes/cars outside the main fisherman’s road ๐Ÿ™‚

Transport

Transport to the various parts of our celebrations has been arranged, but depending on what you are coming to, you will need to decide how you go about it at various stages.

Getting to the ceremony

The ceremony is being held on the beach in front of Sandy Bay, on Haad Yao (West). Everyone should make their own way there, here’s where it is.

Getting from ceremony to Chaloklum

We have arranged 6 taxis (Sawng Taows) to take people from the ceremony to Chaloklum Pier at 6:45pm. Please let us know if you’d like a space, but consider also that transport back to Sandy Bay, or home, is something you’ll need to organise yourselves.

Getting from Chaloklum to Bottle Beach

We have prebooked and paid space for 99 in a flotilla of boats from 7pm – you are covered. You WILL need your ticket for this ride, handed to you as you arrive at the ceremony.

If you wish to arrive at the ceremony earlier or later (or even on Sat) than the planned flotilla, extra boats are going to be on hand during both days. The pre-arranged price for these rides is 100baht each (if you have 5 or more) and 150 baht each for less.

Getting from Bottle Beach back to Chaloklum

There will be boats available back on Friday night, Saturday day and Sunday. These are at the same price (150/100 depending on number). We are in the process of trying to co-ordinate a specific boat back late night Friday, and one early Sunday morning. Outside of that, you can arrange with the super friendly Banana boat man ๐Ÿ™‚

Live Streams

Youtube Live

We will also be streaming the event live in this group! We are looking for a couple more volunteers so we have every angle covered, so please give get in touch if you’d like to help.

How You Can Help

Wedding gifts

We feel incredibly lucky. We’ve found each other, and found ourselves on the most beautiful island in the world during a global pandemic – we really feel we have been gifted enough.

However many have been asking what they can get us for a gift, so we have decided that what we’d really like is to help others who are in a less fortunate position during all of this. To this end we have created a Just Giving page, and will be distributing all of your kind donations to worthy local charities on the Island.

Film & Photos

We encourage you to shoot video and photos on your phones of the event. We (with a little help from our friends) will use these to create an album, and wedding videos, which will eventually replace this site as a repository of memories of what we hope will be an amazing day ๐Ÿ™‚
Photos and videos can get BIG file size wise. So please send any footage or photos you capture by We Transfer to magicmoments@begum-hardy.com

Musicians & Artists

Fire players, dancers, musicians, DJs we will have the infrastructure in place for you to express your love and share the celebrations with us, and encourage you to do so, on both Friday night and Saturday daytime. We will have some there, but please bring instruments and toys along with you ๐Ÿ™‚
